Robert Myles

Robert W. Myles Jr. is the founder of Myles Consulting Group (MCG), an information technology and management consulting firm. He is a distinguished professional with over 30 years of executive government and corporate acquisition experience. His illustrious career began in the United States Army, where he served as an Infantry Officer before transferring to the professional acquisition corps, retiring with the rank of Colonel.

 

Robert’s expertise in government contracting and corporate acquisition has made him a sought-after consultant and advisor. He has worked with numerous government agencies, including the Department of Defense, and the United States Army, providing expert guidance on acquisition strategies, contract management, and proposal development. Robert held senior executive positions at several Department of Defense organizations, including the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Office of the Secretary of the Army, Defense Contract Management Agency, Program Executive Office (PEO) Soldier, and PEO Intelligence, Electronic Warfare, and Sensors. In these roles, he was responsible for developing and executing acquisition strategies for major defense contracts, managing multi-billion-dollar portfolios, and leading cross-functional teams to achieve program objectives.

 

During his time in the Army, Robert negotiated multi-million-dollar contracts and managed all aspects of contracts management, from pre-award to post-award actions. He was personally responsible for a Business Portfolio of Major Defense Contracts, which included the Improved Outer Tactical Vest, Enhanced Small Arms Protective Inserts, Army Bomb-Suit, Protective Eyewear, Traumatic Brain Injury Device, and the Army Combat Helmet. In addition to this, he was the Contracting Commander in Afghanistan for the Defense Contract Management Agency, where he was responsible for contract administrative oversight for the multi-billion-dollar Logistics Civil Augmentation Program (LOGCAP), which provided contingency support to augment the entire Army force structure in Afghanistan.

 

Robert has been recognized for his exceptional service and contributions to the Army, having been awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his deployments to both Afghanistan and Iraq. During his time at the Pentagon, he was awarded the Defense Superior Service Medal and Legion of Merit Medal. Robert holds two master’s degrees from The Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy and Troy University. He received his bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Bowie State University and completed the Army Training with Industry Program at L3Harris (formerly Harris Corporation). Additionally, he received the Kansas State University Executive Leadership Certificate.

 

Robert’s dedication to serving his country and his community extends beyond his professional achievements. He has been a mentor for young men and is actively involved in several veteran’s organizations. He served on the board of directors for the Bowie State University Foundation, recipient of the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education (NAFEO) and inducted into the Bowie State University Reserve Officer’ Training Corps (ROTC) Hall of Fame.

 

He is a member of several professional organizations, including the National Contract Management Association, the National Defense Industrial Association, the National Veteran Small Business Coalition, and the Association of the United States Army (Life member).
